Bounce-Back

Bounce-Back is a free skill-building program designed to help adults and youths 15+ manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. Available to anyone for free it has online videos you can watch to manage various mental health issues (and are in several languages). As well, with a referral from your primary care provider, you can connect with telephone coaching and workbooks.

The Big White Wall

The Big White Wall is a safe, anonymous and fully online peer support community. It provides self-help programs, creative outlets, and a community that cares. Whether you're dealing with everyday stressors or major life events, this is a place that can help. Just one of many mental health resources offered here.

Martial Arts

There are many roads to mental health however I happen to know that martial arts are an excellent complement to psychotherapy. Imagine exploring your inner (emotional) world in my office and then going to a dojo and connecting with your physical self and enjoying new social experiences in the safe space it offers. If you are interested in exploring this option I will work with you to find a dojo that can fit your needs.

Yoga

Bessel van der Kolk has done a significant amount of research around the value of moving and exercise for people with PTSD, trauma and other mental health issues. "Most trauma-sensitive people need some form of body-oriented psychotherapy or bodywork to regain a sense of safety in their bodies." (van der Kolk) Along with martial arts, many are recognizing the value of Yoga to help survivors regulate their emotional and physiological states. "Yoga helps (clients) ... befriend their bodies that have betrayed them by failing to guarantee safety." (van der Kolk)
